Tulane 4x100 Team Leads Track & Field at Southern Miss Invitational

HATTIESBURG, Miss - The Tulane track & field team competed Saturday at the Southern Miss Invitational in a non-scoring event Saturday in Hattiesburg. The Green Wave's quartet of Olivia Kizzee, Kyra Lobbins, Jasmine Momoh and Taneekwa Ross won the 4x100 meter relay. Kizzee, Lobbins, Momoh and Ross completed the 4x100 with a time of 46.36 seconds, almost a full second ahead of Southeastern Louisiana's top squad. Individually, Lobbins turned in a 58.68 time to place eighth in the 400-meter dash, with Kizzee (59.49, 12th) and Momoh (1:05.69, 24th) on her heels. Aubrey Phillips paced Tulane's middle-distance runners, finishing third in the 1,500 meter run with a 4:52.23 time, less than two seconds out of second. Cecelia Clarke finished fifth in that event, posting a 5:05.83 time, while Lauren Swenson (6:03.38) came in 14th. Christina Tegbe was Tulane's top field performer, turning in a 11.31 meter result in the triple jump, placing third. She also turned in a 5.21-meter long jump, good for sixth in that event. Nicolette Taku (4.77m) came in 16th and Ariel Minor (4.37m) placed 22nd. Minor also posted a 27.66 second time in the 200-meter dash, and an 8.23 throw in the shot put. The Green Wave track & field team is back in action on Thursday at the Alabama Relays in Tuscaloosa.
