BATON ROUGE, La. - Arielle Minor set one personal best and tied another, and Jasmine Momoh placed sixth in the 60-meter dash, to lead the Tulane University women's track and field team Friday at the LSU Twilight Invitational held at the Carl Maddox Field House.
The meet was a tune-up for the C-USA Championship set to run Feb. 29-March 1 in Houston, as some of the Green Wave student-athletes needed to run and compete to prepare for the conference championship, Tulane head coach Heather Van Norman said.
Minor, a sophomore from Hammond, La., set a personal best in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.70 seconds, and tied her personal best in the long jump with a mark of 5.07m (16-07.75). Jasmine Momoh, a sophomore from Houston, placed sixth in the 60m with a season-best time of 7.55 seconds. Junior Shaina Pelham finished 12th overall in the preliminary round of the 60m with a time of 7.73, and senior Taneekwa Ross placed 16th overall in the prelims with a time of 7.88 seconds.
Junior Rachel Bryan placed fifth in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 11:15.35, while freshman Aieshia Brooks and sophomore Olivia Kizzee finished eighth (59.93) and 14th (1:00.67) in the 400m, respectively.
