NEW ORLEANS - Tulane senior cross country runner Mike Mainguy has earned his third consecutive selection to the Conference USA All-Academic Cross Country Team on Friday (Dec. 9). The neuroscience major carries a 3.887 GPA in the classroom and was a mainstay in the Green Wave's lineup this season on the course.

Mainguy competed in all six of the team's meets this season and was among the scoring runners for Tulane in four of those meets. Mainguy posted a season-best at the 8K distance during the Conference USA Championships, covering the course in 27:58.20. The senior set a career best at the NCAA South Central Regional, clocking a time of 36:24.20 over the ten-kilometer course.

In the classroom, the senior is a three-time Conference USA Academic Medal recipient, going to any Conference USA student-athlete that maintains a 3.75 GPA, has been selected to the C-USA Commissioners Honor Roll during each of his first three season on campus. Mainguy has earned the Tulane Male Student-Athlete of the Year Award in each of the last two years.

A three-time honoree on the cross country course, Mainguy has also garnered the All-Academic Team honor on the track. The Brookline, Mass. native was named to the All-Academic Track and Field team during his sophomore and junior campaigns.
