NEW ORLEANS - Tulane sprinter Olivia Kizzee will compete in the Abuja Grand Prix this weekend in Abuja, Nigeria. Kizzee, eligible by virtue of her parents' citizenship, is making her debut at the national level for Nigeria in hopes of advancing to the World Track and Field Championships.

Kizzee is currently ranked fourth in Nigeria in the 100-meter dash (11.43) and second in the 200-meter (23.45). Kizzee will need career bests to make the Nigerian team at the World Championships, as the qualifying minimums are 11.40 seconds in the 100, and 23.30 in the 200.

She will also by vying for a spot on the 4x100 and 4x400m relay teams, an attainable goal for Kizzee, who will enter her senior season at Tulane this fall.

Kizzee set a personal best at the NCAA Championships, finishing 16th, in the 200-meter with a time of 23.45. Her personal best of 11.43 came in the 100-meter prelims at the NCAA Championships on June 10th. She finished 13th after posting a 11.70 in the semifinals.

Following the Abuja Grand Prix, Kizzee will run in the Nigerian Track and Field Championships in Kaduna, a qualifier for the World Track and Field Championships which take place in Berlin, August 15-23.
