Solomon Kandie earned Conference USA Co-Athlete of the Week honors this week.

Tulane University junior Solomon Kandie (Nairobi, Kenya) was named the Co-Athlete of the Week by for men's track by Conference USA this week.
Kandie, the only Tulane track athlete to travel to the Stanford Relays, made the trip worthwhile. The junior, who finished third at last year's NCAA Outdoor Championships in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, won the event at Stanford, with a school record time of 8:39.21, defeating 48 other runners. His time is an automatic qualifying time for this year's NCAA Championships.
Kandie shared the award with DePaul senior Carey Ryan, who had an NCAA automatic qualifying mark in the hammer throw at the Florida Relays.
The Green Wave men's and women's outdoor track teams will host the Tulane Invitational this Saturday beginning at 9 a.m. The event will be held at Tad Gormley Stadium.
