Wave Track Teams Travel To Lone Star State

NEW ORLEANS, La. - The Tulane University women's track team is in action at the Houston Indoor Classic on Saturday at the Yeoman Field House on the campus of the University of Houston.

The event starts at 9 a.m. with field events and will continue throughout the day, wrapping up with the 4x400 Relays.

Other women's track teams competing in the event include Houston, Rice, Sam Houston, South Florida, Southern, Texas, Texas A&M Corpus Christi, TCU, Texas Southern, UT-Arlington and UT-Pan American.

Tulane junior Sheena Garwood was the Green Wave's top performer in its opening meet last weekend at the Purple Tiger Invitational, winning the 800-meter run with a time of 2:19.51.

Freshman Lindsey Karlick set a new school record in the indoor pole vault, clearing 10 feet, six inches to take second place in the event. In addition, junior Carlyne Pradieu finished third in the one-mile run and sophomore Angel Dooley was fifth in the 200-meter dash.

Following this weekend's event, the Green Wave will be in action at the Meyo Invitational, hosted by Notre Dame next Friday and Saturday.
