BATON ROUGE, La. -- Tulane men's track and field team member Anthony Lagat won the men's 5,000-meter race Saturday afternoon at the LSU Invite in Baton Rouge, La.
Lagat, a freshman from Nairobi, Kenya, topped a field of six runners with a time of 15:44.73. The time was more than 21 seconds faster than the next closest finisher, and was also a season-best time for Lagat in his second meet of the season.
The Tulane track and field team will next be in action on Feb. 5-6 at the Meyo Classic in
South Bend, Ind. The event is hosted by the University of Notre Dame.
