FAYETTEVILLE, Ark - Tulane sprinter Olivia Kizzee advanced to the semifinals of the 100-meter dash at the 88th Annual NCAA Men's and Women's Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Wednesday.

Kizzee turned in a personal best time of 11.43 in the preliminary rounds, finishing third in heat four with the 13th best time. The top 18 advanced to the semifinals. The finals, scheduled for 7:30 p.m., were disrupted by a lightning delay. No announcement had been made as to how the weather will effect the remainder of the meet schedule.

Kizzee's previous career best in the 100-meter came at the Conference USA championship, a provisional qualifying time of 11.46. The NCAA field consists of 26 entrants in the 100-meter, with Kizzee's time being the 23rd best personal best this season.

She is also schedule to take part in the 200-meter dash, as the prelims were on tap for Thursday at 6:10 p.m.. However, a schedule revision for the 100-meter semis may push back the start of the 200.

In Louisville at the NCAA Mideast Regional Championship, she turned in a time of 23.49 in the 200-meter dash to advance to the NCAA Championships and establish a new personal best.
