HAMMOND, La. - It was a pair of seniors that claimed individual titles at the Southeastern Lion Invitational on Friday evening at the Southeastern Track Complex, while several others claimed season-best times. Kasey Rodgers claimed the 100 meter title and Zandria Debowles finished atop the 400-meter hurdles standings to highlight the meet for the women's squad and Michael Mainguy posted a personal-best in the 3,000 meter.

Rodgers took the shortest race of the program and claimed a win in the 26-person field of the 100 meter. The senior posted her second fastest wind legal time of the season when she crossed the finish line in 11.74. Jerica Banks posted her career-best time of 25.16 in the 200 meter race to place 11th overall and followed that with a season-best time of 58.33 in the 400 meter.

In the 400-meter hurdles, DeBowles led the field with a 61.41 showing to post the team's third fastest time of the season. Candice St. Etienne grabbed a runner-up finish in the race as she posted a season-best time of 61.52. In the men's race, Justyn Shackleford posted a sixth place finish and narrowly missed his career-best time in the event when he crossed the finish line in 56.68.

In the throws, Elizabeth Thomassie had a season-best throw of 34.14-meter in the discus and Thomas Lynch set a new career mark with a toss of 46.55-meters in the event. Brenna Mossman posted her career-best in the hammer throw with a mark of 31.62-meters.



The distance crew set a bevy of personal bests on Friday night in Hammond, La. with seven runners claiming season or personal best times. On the women's side, Aimee Arceneaux set her PR in the 3000 meter with a time of 11:46.59, Amanda Savage ran 2:30.35 for 800 meters to set a personal record and Charlotte Manogue claimed a season-best of 2:26.84 in the half mile.

Cody Gibbons posted a pair of career-best marks with a 2:04.32 showing in the 800 meter and covered the 1500 meter distance in 4:08.99 to claim third place in the race. Mike Mainguy ran 9:14.46 over 3000 meters to set a new PR and Geoffrey Zelek finished the 3000 meter in 9:29.18 to grab a career record.

Tulane will continue their weekend on Saturday, April 21 when they head to Baton Rouge, La. to take part in the LSU Alumni Gold starting at 9:00 a.m. at the Bernie Moore Track Stadium.
