KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - The Tulane track and field program closed out their stay at the Sea Ray Relays with a quartet of performances on the Tom Black Track on the campus of the University of Tennessee. A pair of relay teams and two individuals competed on the final day, with Brree Carter and Jordan Vance competing as individuals.
The 4x400-meter relay team closed out the meet for the women's squad, as they posted a time of 3:55.21. The men's squad ran in the final event of the Sea Ray Relays, completing the 4x400-meter event in a time of 3:21.82. Christopher Arechiga, Jordon Holtzman, Jon Frano and Koplan Nwabuoku posted the third fastest time in the event for the Green Wave in 2011.
Carter was the lone field event marker of the afternoon for the Olive and Blue collecting a sixth place finish in the long jump. Carter, who set a new personal best last weekend at the South Alabama Invitational, jumped 5.52 meters in her second attempt of the competition.
Vance was the lone Green Wave student athlete to compete in an individual running event on Saturday, running the 3000-meter steeplechase. The sophomore was running the event for the second time in his career and posted a time of 10:45.01. Vance ran 10:23.06 at the Louisiana Classics in his first steeplechase event this season.
Tulane will head to LSU for their next competition, running at the LSU Alumni Gold on Saturday, April 23. The meet will be held at Bernie Moore Stadium on the LSU campus.
