Chris Arechiga was a Member of Both Relay Teams for Tulane and Helped Set a Pair of Season-Bests

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The Tulane track and field team finished up their stay at the Pepsi Florida relays on Saturday (April 7) with a pair of relays competing on the final day of the event at the Percy Beard Track inside of James G. Pressly Stadium. Both of the men's and women's relay teams set new season-best times on their respective courses.
The sprint medley relay team's started the day for the Green Wave, with the women's team finishing 13th overall and the men's squad grabbing a 16th place showing. Kasey Rodgers and Hilary Woods led off the relay with 200 meter legs, followed by a 400 meter from Jamie Riles and an 800-meter leg from Michelle Kreutzberg to complete the 1600-meter course in 4:05.16. The 200-meter legs on the men's side were handled by Jared Firestone and Christopher Arechiga, while Justyn Shackleford covered the 400 and Jon Frano brought home to relay in 3:29.48.
The women's 4x100-meter relay ran a season-best time of 46.09 to grab a 22nd place finish in the field of 45 participants. The team of Jerica Banks, Rodgers, Hilary Woods and Tiffanie Smith bettered the team's season best time by three seconds in the event. The men's quartet of Shackleford, Frano, Arechiga and Xavier Rush ran their first 4x100-meter relay in 42.96.
