University of North Carolina: Spent on season on campus for the Tar Heels...competed in the pole vault...ranked second on the team in the event during the season...ranked 37th nationally during the indoor season in the pole vault...during the indoor season she cleared a season-best height of 4.05-meters to place third at the Atlantic Coast Conference Indoor Championships... her season-best clearance during the outdoor season also came at the ACC Championships, finishing fourth, with a height of 3.96-meters.

Prep: Lettered all four years in track and field while at Metairie Park Country Day...named the Gatorade/ESPN RISE Louisiana Track and Field Athlete of the Year as a senior...named Metro Filed Performer of the Year by the Times-Picayune as a senior...competed in multiple events for the Cajuns...led the nation with a height of 4.17-meters in the pole vault during her senior season...set the LHSAA State record with her vault of 4.17-meters...helped the Cajuns to a fourth place showing at the 20010 LHSAA 1A State Track and Field Championships...won the state title in the pole vault and placed second in the 200-meter dash and the long jump at the LHSAA 1A meet...owns the school record in the pole vault, long jump, high jump and 200-meter dash.

Personal: Born Merritt Grace Van Meter on January 8, 1992...the daughter of Marianne and the late Cliff Van Meter...has one brother, Cliff, and one sister, Logan Jade...her grandfather, Cliff, graduated from Tulane in 1949 and father, Cliff, Jr., completed his degree from Tulane in 1977...both her father and grandfather played football at Tulane...her Grandfather led the team in total offense in 1946, played on the 1949 SEC Championship squad and was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers...her father played two seasons with the Green Wave in football.
