An NCAA Regional qualifier in the long jump as a sophomore while helping the Wave's 4x100 relay team to the regionals in 2005.

AS A JUNIOR (2004-05)
OUTDOOR:
Registered a personal-record long jump of 19-07 at the C-USA Championships (5/13) to finish seventh in the event. Also helped the Wave 4x100 relay team to a time of 45.49 seconds to finish fourth and qualify for NCAA Regionals. Team finished 10th at the regional championships. INDOOR: Finished eighth in the long jump at the C-USA Championships (2/25). Notched her top long jump of the season at the LSU Twilight Invitational (2/18) with a mark of 18-11.25.

OUTDOOR:
Qualified for the NCAA Regionals with a long jump of 19-04 at Clemson (5/8) and then recorded a career-best jump of 19-05.50 to finish in 12th place at the Regionals (5/28). Helped the Wave's 4x100 relay team to a sixth-place finish while placing 12th in the long jump at the C-USA Championships (5/14-15). INDOOR: One of three Wave jumpers to score in the long jump at the Conference USA Championship, recording a season-best mark of 18 feet, three and a quarter inches to take seventh place.

AS A FRESHMAN (2002-03)
OUTDOOR:
Scored in two events at the Conference USA Championships by taking seventh in the long jump and helping the 4x100 relay team to a sixth-place finish. Recorded a personal-best long jump of 18 feet, three and a quarter inches at the C-USA Championship (5/16). Notched a personal-best of triple jump of 37 feet, four inches at the UNO Invitational (3/15). INDOOR: The top long jumper for the Green Wave as a rookie. Finished third at the Conference USA Championships (2/28) with a leap of 19 feet, one and a quarter inches. Also ran the 200 in four meets, posting a season-best mark of 26.49 at the conference championship.

HIGH SCHOOL
A 2002 graduate of Borger High School, where she lettered in track and basketball. As a senior, placed third in Texas in the long jump and sixth in the triple jump. Sixth place in the long jump at the state championships as a junior. A two-time regional long-jump champ (sophomore and junior years), while placing second regionally in both the long and triple jump as a senior. An honorable mention all-district basketball player. Member of the National Honor Society as well as an all-academic selection in track and basketball.

Full name is Marilyn Monique Sauls. Born May 18, 1984 in Borger, Texas. The daughter of Winston and Stella Sauls. Older sister, Maggie, plays basketball at Henderson State. Majoring in civil engineering at Tulane.
