Cross Country/Sprints/Hurdles

Originally from Heber Springs, Arkansas. Jim graduated from Arkansas State University in 1993 with a Bachelors degree in excercise science. While at ASU Jim was a member of the track and field teams from 1988-1993. Jim participated in the sprint and hurdling events. Jim's coaching career began at ASU as a graduate assistant for the 1994 and 1995 seasons. He achieved his Masters degree in exercise physiology in 1995. He moved to the University of Arkansas to pursue his Doctorate in Kinesiology. While there, he was the assistant track coach for the Pole Vault and multi-events from 1996-1999. He received his Doctorate in 1999. While at the University of Arkansas, the University won seven NCAA Division I National Championships, one in cross country, 3 in indoor track, 3 in outdoor track. Jim also worked in the Department of Health, Kinesiology and Recreation at the University of Arkansas from 1996-1999.
