Victoria Martinez joins the Tulane Green Wave as assistant coach for the men's and women's Cross Country programs, as well as the women's indoor and outdoor Track & Field teams after a standout career at Division II Adams State College in Alamosa, Colorado.

Martinez was a 12-time All-American at the D-II level, taking the national championship in multiple events. She won the Indoor 800-meter in 2005 and the outdoor 800m in 2006, as well as the outdoor 1,500-meter in 2006. In 2005, she was part of the national champion team in the distance medley relay.

She earned 12 separate Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference championships, and was an all-conference performer 18 times.

With the cross country team, Martinez was part of three national championship teams at Adams State, and was named Team MVP in 2005.

She graduated in May of 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts in Pyschology and was an Academic All-American. She stayed at Adams State until 2008, when she finished her Master of Arts degree in in Human Performance and Physical Education.
