Won three races during her rookie year and added a second-place finish at the 106-runner LSU Invitational (9/27). Posted a career-best six-kilometer time of 22:37.30 at the Conference USA Championship (11/1) while her top 5K time was 18:41.39 at the 113-runner Southern Miss Invitational (9/12), which she won. Selected Athlete of the Week in Conference USA three times.

Older sister Bridie Hatch ran track at UCLA and was part of school record-setting 4x800 relay team. Plans to major in psychology at Tulane. Selected to the Conference USA Academic Honor Roll for 2003-04.
