2001 Cross Country: Ran in six races for the Wave. Finished third in the two-mile UNO Dual Meet (12:56). Took fifth at the RaginâÂÂ?TM Cajun Invitational (3 miles, 18:19) and sixth at the Tulane Invitational (2 miles, 12:22.50).

2001 Outdoor: A key middle-distance runner for the Wave. Ran the 800 for the Wave, as well as the 4x400 and 4x800 relay teams. Personal-best 800 time was 2:16.14 at LSU.

2001 Indoor: Earned a seventh-place finish at the C-USA Championship in the 800. Ran a leg on the C-USA Champion distance medley relay team (11:48.41).

2000 Cross Country: Ran in six cross country meets. Her top finish was ninth in the SLU Invitational.

2000 Outdoor: Logged a season-best time of 2:14.39 in the 800 at the C-USA Championships. Ran her best 1,500 meters in 4:48.55.

2000 Indoor: Ran the 800 and 1,600 (career-best time of 5:05.28 in that event).

1999 Outdoor: Posted an eighth-place finish at the C-USA Outdoor Championships in the 800. Season-best effort in the 800 came at 2:14.26 at the LSU Gold Meet.

1999 Indoor: Ran season-best 5:10.54 in the mile at the Terrier Classic.

Prep: A 1998 graduate of Hanks High School. Finished in the top 50 in the cross country state championships. Finished first in the districts as a senior in the 800 (2:18) and third in the mile (5:19). Qualified for state championships in the 800 and finished sixth (2:16.8).

Personal: Born October 19, 1979 in Fayetteville, N.C. The daughter of Melody and David Galka. Majoring in cellular and molecular biology and plans to attend medical school. Her uncle, Matteo Cucchiara, ran for Fordham. Her grandmother, Florence Cucchiara, is a master-level distance runner.
