Dana Ellis-Buller joins the Tulane Track and Field program as a volunteer assistant coach for the 2010-11 season and will be working with the Green Wave pole vault specialists.

Ellis-Buller competed on the international scene from 2000-2008, contending at events such as the Commonwealth Game, Pan American Games, the IAAF World Grand Prix, the World Championships and the Olympic Games. Ellis-Buller claimed her lone international championship at the 2008 International Association of Athletics Federations Grand Prix in Osaka, Japan with a winning height of 4.20-meters. Just four years before that, in just her fourth year in the sport, she grabbed a sixth place finish at the 2004 Athens Olympics with a 4.40-meters showing.

During a two-year span (2005-06), Ellis-Buller was the 7th ranked pole vaulter in the world and posted top-six finishes at the World Championships, IAAF Grand Prix and the Commonwealth Games.

Ellis-Buller is a Canadian National Champion, as she claimed the Canadian National title at the 2004 and 2005 Canadian National Track and Field Championships. Ellis-Buller holds the Canadian outdoor (4.52m) and indoor (4.41m) records. She was honored as the 2004 Canadian Field Athlete of the Year after a sixth place showing at the 28th Olympiad in Athens, Greece.

Prior to her venture into pole vaulting, Ellis-Buller was a gymnast on the Canadian National Team from 1990-97.

A native of Kitchener, Ontario, Ellis-Buller graduated from the University of Waterloo in 2002 with a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology and is currently in her third year in the Tulane School of Medicine master's program. Ellis-Buller is married to Russ Buller, the head strength and conditioning coach for the Tulane baseball and cross country/track and field teams, while assisting with the football program.
