MEDIA OPPORTUNITIES & SERVICES
All interview requests for Coach Conroy, any Tulane assistant coaches and players MUST be coordinated through the Athletic Communications Office.
Players are available for interviews, either in person or on the phone, or before or after practice depending on their class and meeting schedules.
In order to have time to arrange for player interviews, please provide 24 hours notice to the Athletic Communications Office. Player interviews may be conducted in the Hertz Practice Facility, at Fogelman Arena in Devlin Fieldhouse or in the Athletic Communications Office. The Tulane training rooms, locker rooms, weight room and meeting room areas are off-limits to the media. Your cooperation is appreciated.
For telephone interviews, the student-athlete will be provided with the number and will make the call at a mutually-agreed upon time. Phone numbers of student-athletes will NOT be made available to the media. For interviews with head coach Ed Conroy and/or Tulane assistant coaches, please contact Brian Miller in the Athletic Communications Office.
In general, Tulane practices, held at the Hertz Practice Facility or Devlin Fieldhouse, are open to the local media. However, practices may be closed or moved without notice. Please contact the Tulane Athletic Communications Office if you plan on attending practice so that we may alert the coaching staff and confirm the day's practice schedule. Still photographs and video may be shot at any time during practice by approved agencies. Media are asked to remain in the stands during practice, and are asked not to speak to players or coaches during the workout.
Updated statistics, game recaps, game notes, player and coaches' bios, newspaper articles, as well as historical, broadcast and ticket information, can be found on the Tulane Official Athletics Website at www.TulaneGreenWave.com. Media are encouraged to check the website regularly for the latest Green Wave athletics news.
Requests for video footage of Green Wave basketball should be made to Brian Miller in the Athletic Communications Office. He will work with TU Video Coordinator Travis Detillier to fill specific requests. Please allow a minimum of three days lead time for video requests. Agencies will be asked to either supply a new Beta tape or to return the highlights to Tulane.
Members of the media can obtain the latest news, game releases, updated depth charts, rosters and season and single game statistics from Tulane in several ways. All this information and more is regularly updated and posted in a PDF format on the official athletics website, www.tulanegreenwave.com. In addition, information can be sent via e-mail or fax on a daily or weekly basis. Simply contact Brian Miller at (504) 314-7219 or via e-mail at email@example.com to request to be added to the basketball e-mail or fax distribution list.
GAME DAY COVERAGE
All requests for media, radio, television, photography, scouting and parking credentials for the 2010-11 Tulane Basketball season, or for any individual game, should be made IN WRITING, on company letterhead or via e-mail, (company name in address), to Brian Miller, and can be emailed (firstname.lastname@example.org) or faxed (504) 865-5379. Requests should be made at least one week prior to the game. In general, individual game credentials will not be mailed but can be picked up in the Athletic Communications Office the week of the game, or at the Devlin Fieldhouse will-call located at the southeast entrance.
Parking is VERY limited at Devlin Fieldhouse. Parking passes will not be available to visiting media. It is suggested that media plan accordingly and arrive early for games in order to secure parking. Parking will be available free of charge at the Loyola University parking garage, located two blocks from Devlin Fieldhouse on Freret Street (see map, above).
Any media credentials not picked up during the week at the Wilson Center will be available at Press Will Call at the front of Devlin Fieldhouse beginning one and a half hours prior to game-time. The Press Will Call Door is at the left front of Devlin Fieldhouse when facing the building.
Press Row Services
A media workroom is located on the concourse level of Devlin Fieldhouse. Game notes, rosters, programs and other information will be available in this room prior to games. Half-time and post-game statistics will be delivered to press row as soon as possible. Complete post-game box scores will be available approximately 20 minutes after the game.
Phone lines are available along press row and in the media workroom at Devlin Fieldhouse. Tulane will email/fax stats and other post-game information as requested. See a member of the Athletic Communications Staff, or contact the Athletic Communications Staff during the week prior to the game, to request post-game faxes.
Visiting Radio/Television Broadcasts
Visiting radio stations will have phone lines (including one ISDN line) available in the press booth located on the concourse level opposite the team benches. Space will be allocated along press row for television broadcasts. Visiting SIDs will designate their official radio stations and Tulane will supply phone lines on a reciprocal basis for that station. Entities which wish to broadcast Tulane home contests should send their request, in writing, to Brian Miller.
The Tulane locker room is closed following all Tulane contests (home and away). Head Coach Ed Conroy and requested players will be available in the media room following games.
For Tulane home games, the SID of the visiting school will establish admittance policies to the visiting locker room.
All space for the working press, radio and television for Tulane Basketball games is allocated by the Tulane Athletic Communications Office, which reserves the right to deny credentials to any outlet. Freelance and/or non-daily writers may be asked to produce copies of actual publications in which their work has appeared. Seating at press row at Devlin Fieldhouse is for working media and scouts ONLY.
Press credentials will be issued to working press only. Press credentials are non transferable and use by anyone other than members of the working press is unauthorized. Press credentials used in an unauthorized manner will be revoked immediately. News organizations allowing unauthorized individuals to use credentials will have their credentials revoked for the remainder of the year.
A light meal and soft drinks will be provided for working media in the media workroom on the concourse level beginning approximately 90 minutes prior to game time. The Lavin-Bernick Student Center, located behind Devlin Fieldhouse on McAlister Drive also offers food options.
