Tulane Scholarships
Tulane University has a number of undergraduate scholarships for beginning and continuing students. Many of these scholarships are offered through specific colleges and departments. Consult the list below and see your department head or College Dean for more information.

NCAA Postgraduate Scholarships
The NCAA awards postgraduate scholarships to student-athletes that have excelled academically and athletically. Student-athletes must be in their final year of intercollegiate competition and have a 3.2 GPA. For the 2004-05, there are 174 scholarships at $7,500 each. The deadlines vary by sport. Fall Sports-December 10, 2004, Winter Sports-February 25, 2005, and Spring Sports-May 6, 2005.

NCAA Sports Journalism-Freedom Forum Scholarships
Scholarships for outstanding sports journalists to be awarded during recipient's senior year. For the 2004-2005, there are 8 scholarships at $3000 each. The deadline is December 10.

NCAA Walter Byers Postgraduate Scholarship Program
Postgraduate scholarship that is awarded to 1 male and 1 female each year. Student-athletes must have a 3.5 GPA. For 2004-2005, the amount of each scholarship is $21,500.

NCAA Ethnic Minority and Women's Postgraduate Scholarships for Athletic Careers
Offers postgraduate scholarships to women and minorities who are interested in pursing an advanced degree in a sports related field. For 2004-2005, there were 13 scholarships for women and 13 scholarships for minorities. The amount of each award is $6000 and the deadline is December 17.

CAA Degree Completion Awards Program
Applicants must be within 30 hours of completing undergraduate degree. Applicants must also have completed athletic eligibility and exhausted institutional eligibility for athletics related aid (five years). The deadline is October 8.

NCAA honors eight outstanding senior student-athletes. Deadlines vary by sport.

National Football Foundation Scholarship
Fellowships are awarded each year to a select group of college football seniors who have demonstrated outstanding academic ability, school leadership, and superior football performance. Applicants must have at least a 3.0 GPA and be in their final year of eligibility.

Arthur Ashe, Jr. Sports Scholar Awards
Honors undergraduate students of color who have achieved academically and athletically. Applicants must compete in an intercollegiate sport, have a 3.2 GPA, and be active on their campuses.

Verizon Academic All-Americans
The College Sports Information Directors of America select Academic All-American teams in: football, women's volleyball, men's soccer, women's soccer, men's basketball, women's basketball, baseball, softball, men's track and field/cross country, women's track and field/cross country, men's at-large and women's at-large.

Sport-Specific Scholar Athlete Awards
A number of coaches associations in various sports honor teams of top scholar athletes in their respective sports. Head coaches base their nomination of sport-specific criteria.
