Green Wave don shoulder pads for the first time
NEW ORLEANS – The intensity level inside Yulman Stadium was notched up on Sunday morning, as the Tulane football team donned shoulder pads for the first time. Sticking to their morning practice format, the Green Wave once again ran through over two hours worth of drills before wrapping the first weekend of camp.  Â

Special Teams received attention this morning as the Wave coaching staff led the squad through some punt protection and punt block drills. Tulane then executed some one-on-one and seven-on-one drills before ending the Sunday session with a full team, offense vs defense, which lasted around 20 minutes.

"First day of pads so practice was a little different today," Tulane head coach Willie Fritz stated. "We'll go inside now and watch some tape, see who played well and who didn't. I think we have some good (quarter)backs. I've been very excited with the way we've been throwing the ball."

Monday morning's practice is open to the media and will commence at 7:45 a.m. After Tuesday's closed practice, the Green Wave will host their Media Day on Wednesday, Aug. 10, with lunch at 11:30 a.m. followed by Coach Fritz at 11:45.Â
