Lurlyn "Ms. Fitz" Fitzpatrick has left an unprecedented legacy on Tulane Athletics. As the secretary for Tulane Football for 35 years, she saw 10 head coaches come and go, hundreds of football student-athletes don the olive and blue, and witnessed dozens and dozens of wins and losses. Throughout this long chapter in Tulane's history, one thing remained constant: Ms. Fitz. The players who played during Ms. Fitz's time refer to themselves as "Ms. Fitz's Boys". To many, she was a motherly figure during a crucial time in their lives. Whether it be typing their term papers or being there for them to talk to, Ms. Fitz was a rock of support.
It is in that light, that we announce the formation of the "Ms. Fitz Football Endowment Fund". This effort will allow those men who benefited so much from Ms. Fitz to give back to Tulane Football in a way that pays tribute to her. The primary goal of this project is to raise $1,000,000 that will be endowed in Ms. Fitz's name. The interest from this endowment will be used to directly benefit the football program. Ultimately, it will have a profound impact on Tulane Football while honoring the legacy of Ms. Fitz.
A second component of this project is to capture an "oral history" of the Ms. Fitz Era. This collection will capture the many amazing stories and recollections during this era as told by Ms. Fitz and many of the players. Our goal is to preserve this unique history of nearly two generations of Tulane Football and to spread them to the hundreds whose lives she touched.

Inaugural Ms. Fitz Weekend a Great Success!
The Ms. Fitz Football Endowment Fund launch was a great success over the weekend of November 14-15th. More than 75 former football players attended and enjoyed the activities with Ms. Fitz and her family, teammates, and friends from all eras. The weekend kicked-off with a reception on Friday at the James W. Wilson, Jr. Center on Tulane's campus. The evening featured presentations from the committee, Director of Athletics Rick Dickson, and a demonstration of the new website (www.msfitzfund.com), as well as sample audio files for the "oral history" project. Additionally, plans for a coffee table book were revealed which calls for all football players from the Ms. Fitz era (1965-1999) to send pictures and stories to the athletic department. The committee also announced that nearly $100,000 has already been committed to fund the endowment, which puts us at 10 percent of the goal of bringing in $1,000,000.00!
The weekend concluded at the Louisiana Superdome on Saturday with the attendees enjoying the Athletic Director's private suite and being introduced with Ms. Fitz at halftime on the field. Ms. Fitz was glowing and thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated the recognition and opportunity to be with "her boys" again. Please remember that this is simply the "launch" of this exciting project. There is still much to achieve! Please participate in this project by doing all or some of the following:
