What is your most memorable moment of your career so far as a Tulane student-athlete?
"My most memorable experience at Tulane used to be from my freshman year, against Army. But now, I'd have to say that breaking the single-game rushing record…twice. Those were pretty special games. The great thing about the SMU game was we won in overtime. To see everybody on our team fighting so hard for that game, getting the win was the best part."
How has being a Tulane student-athlete helped or changed you?
"Being a Tulane student has helped my maturity. As I've become more educated, I've grown up and now I make better decisions - on and off the field. A Tulane education is very valuable and that value becomes more and more evident each day."
What are you majoring in and what made you go in that direction?
"My major is finance. I've always enjoyed math classes and I was pretty good at it in high school. It's not bad to go into finance if you want to manage your money well. Everybody wants a lot of money. Money isn't everything, but it's still good to have."
If you could play another sport at Tulane, what would it be?
"I don't know if I could choose between basketball or baseball. I like baseball. I was always good at it. But I didn't want to play it because it ran into spring football. I guess I'd play basketball, because it's more fast-paced."
What is your favorite type of music?
"My favorite kind of music is R&B, rap, and a little rock. My favorite artist right now is either Kanye West or Lil' Wayne."
What is the last concert you attended?
"The last concern I went to was also the first concert I've ever been to. It was last year and I saw Beyonce and Robin Thicke. he's an R&B singer. He's Alan Thicke's son (laughs). Nah, I'm just kidding!"
Why did you choose to attend Tulane University?
"I chose Tulane because they (the coaches) really wanted me. It was nice to be able to stay near home. The choice was easy for me. Being at Tulane is nice because I'm closer to home and my parents can come down and see me play. My dad played here too, so that made the decision a little easier for me because he lived the experience before I did and knew what a Tulane degree can do for you once your playing career is over."
What personal philosophy do you live by?
"If you are going to do something, do it 100 percent. Put your all into it. If you want something and that something is your goal in life, do all you can to achieve it and don't let anyone stop you."
Who has been the most influential person in your athletic career?
"My dad was most influential to my athletic career. He was my coach in little league and, since then, he has always given me advice. Even today, he says that he's been where I'm going and tells me that people will try to tell sway my choices and decisions. But despite all that, I need to keep my head on straight, make the right decisions, watch the people I hang around, and surround myself with good people."
What is the best advice you've ever been given?
"My dad has also given me the best advice throughout my life and football career. He always told me to treat people how you want to be treated. He would say before each game to play each play like it's your last play. My dad always told me to keep God first in my mind."
What advice would you give to an incoming freshman at Tulane University?
"My advice to incoming freshmen coming to Tulane would be to remember that you've got the whole world ahead of you. Don't mess up this opportunity by being lazy or making poor decisions. Do what you have to do. By the time you are a junior or senior, you are going to be a better person and athlete by doing well and making smart decisions."
What class would you most recommend a school mate to take?
"I recommend to students to take an acting class here at Tulane. You learn about acting, but it's mostly a lot of fun and a break from all the intense studying students do here."
What is your favorite movie?
"My favorite movies are either Any Given Sunday and Love and Basketball."
What actor would you most like to see in a movie?
"I'd love to see Denzel Washington, because he always is in great movies. Will Smith, too."
What is your favorite food?
"My favorite food is my mother's gumbo. It's a recipe that has been passed down through the generations that I've been eating since I was a little kid."
What is your dream vacation destination?
"Even though I've already been there, my dream vacation destination would have to be Hawaii. I was there once as a really little kid, but I'd really like to go again. All I really remember from it was walking around a lot."
If you could have dinner with any three people, who would they be and why?
"If I could meet anyone either alive or dead, it would have to be both of my grandmothers and Jesus. I was very young when both of my grandmothers passed away so I'd love to get to know them better. As far as Jesus goes, everyone wants to get to know him better and I think it would interesting to sit down and talk to him one on one."
Who would you like to thank?
"I would like to thank my parents and my brother for supporting me, for always being there for me, and for providing me with good advice. I'd also thank my close friends and coaches."
