Richie Weaver is in his 11th year in the Tulane Athletic Communications Office where he serves as the primary contact for women's basketball, women's tennis and women's swimming. He is also the secondary contact for the Green Wave's football program.
During his time at Tulane, Weaver has also spent time as the Green Wave's baseball (2002-07), volleyball (2001-05, 2008-09) and women's golf (2001-05) contact. He also helps coordinate the press box during the Allstate Sugar Bowl and R&L Carriers New Orleans Bowl, and works for WestWood One Radio as a sideline producer.
When not busy with his athletics duties, Weaver is an active member of the Boy Scouts of America where he is a member of the Southeast Louisiana Council's Camping Committee and is the chairman of the council's aquatics subcommittee. A former member of Troop 84 out of Violet, La., Weaver earned the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout in 1989 and has worked at the SLC's council camp, Salmen Scout Reservation, ever summer since 1990 and has worked a member of the BSA's National Camping School.
Weaver joined the Tulane staff in August 2001 after a 13-month stint at Jacksonville (Fla.) University. He also worked as a graduate assistant at Troy State and Louisiana-Monroe. A 1998 graduate of Nicholls State University with a bachelor's degree in mass communication, Weaver worked in the Colonel sports information office as an undergraduate and was named Who's Who Among American Colleges and Universities.
A native of Meraux, La., Weaver is married to the former Meghan Legaux. He is a member of The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association, College Sports Information Directors of America and the National Football Writers Association of American.
