Morgan Walker is in his first full year with the Green Wave staff after arriving in March of 2004 to take the newly-created position of assistant provost for compliance and academic services. Prior to his move to Tulane, he spent four years in compliance at UTEP.
Walker came to UTEP from San Diego State University in December 1999 and after one year was promoted to compliance coordinator. He earned another promotion to Director of Compliance in September of 2002.
He spent a year and a half in compliance at San Diego State University and also served an internship at the University of California, San Diego under the tutelage of former NCAA President and current NCAA Senior Woman Administrator, Judy Sweet.
Walker received his bachelor's degree in business administration from Morningside College (Iowa), where he served as captain of the track and field team while earning All-America honors in that sport. He also played football at Morningside. He received a master's degree in sports management from the United States Sports Academy.
After college, Walker spent three years as a Credit Manager at Wells Fargo Financial and five years in the U.S. Navy as a Division Officer aboard the U.S.S. Rushmore (LSD-47), an amphibious dock landing ship.
Walker is also a member of the Black Coaches Association (BCA).
