Melinda McDonell joined the Tulane athletic training staff in November of 2012. She helps provide medical coverage to Tulane athletic teams.
Prior to working at Tulane she had experience working at several universities. She taught classes in the Department of Health and Safety at the University of Idaho for the 2011-12 year. She taught in the Health and Kinesiology Department at Purdue University from 2007-2011. She was an assistant athletic trainer at Washington State University from 1990-2001.
McDonell received her Master of Science degree in Exercise and Sport Science with a concentration in athletic training from the University of Arizona in 1988. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Physical Education with an athletic training concentration from Oregon State University in 1986. She has been a certified athletic trainer since 1986.
