NEW ORLEANS - Dat Dog, one of the hottest New Orleans restaurants, will be donating a portion of their day's sales to the Devon Walker Fund on Monday, Aug. 26 at their Freret Street location.
Ten percent of all sales raised from 1:30 - 7 p.m. on Monday will be donated to the Devon Walker Fund, which helps to support ongoing medical care for the former Green Wave student-athlete. Additional donations may be made at the register.
In addition to the fundraiser, Dat Dog will unveil a special "Devon Dog" for their menu, created by Devon himself. Guests will also have the opportunity to meet Devon, who is expected to make an appearance at the event.
The Devon Walker Fund was created as a non-profit organization to help the Walker family defray medical and other costs associated with Devon's injury. Walker, a native of Destrehan, La., suffered a severe spinal cord injury while playing safety for the Green Wave at Tulsa on Sept. 8, 2012.
Dat Dog is located at 5030 Freret Street in New Orleans. Dat Dog can be reached by phone at (504) 899-6883.
