NEW ORLEANS - Tulane Athletics is inviting nominations for its 2013 Athletics Hall of Fame Class. The Tulane Athletics Hall of Fame, which is supported by the University's letterwinners organization, and the "T-Club," is asking for input from Tulane fans, supporters and alumni in the form of nominations. The Hall of Fame class induction will take prior to the 2013 Homecoming game at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
Former Tulane student-athletes from all sports, former coaches, and former administrators are eligible for selection to the Hall of Fame. Student-athletes who completed their athletic careers during the 2006-07 seasons or before can be nominated this year. Nominations for the 2013 class will be accepted through April 30, 2013.
To be considered for selection, student-athletes must meet the following criteria:
** The student-athlete must have brought above average recognition to him or herself and to Tulane University during his or her Green Wave athletics career;
** must have demonstrated qualities of leadership, sportsmanship, scholarship, character and integrity both during and after his or her Tulane career;
** must have received a varsity letter through participation in an intercollegiate sport;
** and must have completed his or her collegiate career at Tulane.
To submit nominations, interested parties may print out the nomination form available at www.TulaneGreenWave.com, and fax the completed form to the Tulane Athletics Department (attn: Sue Bower) at 504-862-8569, or mail to James W. Wilson Center, Ben Weiner Drive, New Orleans, La. 70118.
Nominees in the coaching and administrative categories must have served a minimum of four years as a head coach at Tulane (coaches) or have worked at Tulane a minimum of five years (administrators).
Supporting information in the way of letters, statistics and clippings will also be accepted but will not be returned.
A listing of the previous inductees into the Hall of Fame is available on the Tulane Athletics Hall of Fame page. New nominations will be certified and forwarded to the Hall of Fame Committee, which includes members of the media, Tulane Athletics Fund, T-Club and faculty representatives, and current Tulane student-athletes, coaches and athletics staff. Anyone may submit a nomination and this year's nominees will be kept on file for three years and be reconsidered during each subsequent review period. Several nominations have been held over from previous classes and will be reconsidered for this year.
