Coach Bob Toledo used a number of younger players, including redshirt freshman Ryan Griffin, who looks to be entrenched as the team's starting quarterback for the next couple seasons. There was also a nod to the present, with Jeremy Williams and Andre Anderson combining to be the first duo in school history to have a 1,000-yard receiving and 1,000-yard rushing season, respectively.

Major Leaguers Micah Owings and Tommy Manzella accepted an invitation to be instructors at the Rick Jones Tulane Holiday Baseball camp. Owings, a pitcher with the Cincinnati Reds and Manzella, an infielder with the Houston Astros, will join Tulane coaches for the camps December 28th-30th at Tulane's McWilliams Athletic Complex, Greer Field at Turchin Stadium and the Sofio Hitting Facility.

Tulane guard Zach Morgan and strongside linebacker Shakiel Smith were selected to the Conference USA All-Freshman team, it was announced Tuesday. The team was voted on by the conference's 12 coaches. No Tulane player made the league's all-conference first or second teams, but seven Green Wave players received honorable mention.

The 2009 season won't likely be looked back on with fondness. Not surprising sentiment considering the Green Wave went 3-9 overall and 1-7 in Conference USA play. Tulane had losing streaks of two, three and four games, and could only put together two solid games in a row onc time, with wins over McNeese State and Army in back-to-back weeks.
