The George C. "Sunny" Westfeldt Practice & Competition Facility is located directly behind the James W. Wilson Center and is comprised of a trio of athletic training facilities that encompass' three separate Green Wave programs. The Westfeldt Practice Facility servers as the main practice grounds for the football program, the Michael & Melinda Veron Short Game Facility services the women's golf program and the Danny Thiel Track aids the Green Wave cross country and track and field programs.

The Westfeldt Facility is fully lit with a grandstand which comfortably seats 1,200 fans. The track facility is equipped with two pole vault pits, two sand pits for the long jump and triple jumpers, a high jump practice area and a throwers circle to accommodate the shot put, discus and javelin. The track is a 400-meter polyurethane oval with six lanes with standard markings for a multitude of sprint, hurdle and distance races.

The football practice field was equipped with a Sportexe turf playing surface in 2006, which allows for year-round use in almost all weather conditions. The main practice field and the side practice field are both Sportexe OmniGrassTM 41 surfaces are one of the safest synthetic fields on the market today, while the firmness, durability and cushioning provide years of year-round use for a multitude of sports.
